We are committed to preparing our students to manage their future education and career path throughout adult life through a planned programme of Careers Education, Work Related Learning and Information, Advice and Guidance. This programme is reviewed annually in September. In order to achieve this we offer a wide range of activities, both in school and out of school. Our Careers Advisor offers impartial careers advice and guidance in school each week. Please also refer to our Protocol on Provider Access.
Events take place throughout the year. By the end of Year 9 students will have:

Gatsby Benchmarks and Destinations
In terms of Careers Guidance, the School works to the framework of Gatsby Benchmarks. The Local Authority Partnership Officer evaluates the percentage of our success in accordance with these Benchmarks. In November 2019, our evaluation clearly demonstrated 100% success across all 8 Benchmarks.
A further measure of the success of our Career Guidance is linked to the destinations of our students. In 2019 100% of our leavers went on to education or post-16 training opportunities, including apprenticeships and, therefore, our risk of young people who are NEET is below 1%. In order to achieve this, we annually review our Careers Strategy in September and actively promote links with our post-16 providers throughout all year groups.
We maintain contact with our Alumni and these ex-students come into school from time to time to participate in events and to give talks and presentations.
